Nenad Vujić, director of the Judicial Academy

Personal and work biography of the Director of the Judicial Academy

Nenad Vujuć was born on October 26, 1966 in Loznica

  • He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, where he also passed the bar exam. Since January 2010, he has been the director of the Judicial Academy in Belgrade.
  • Since 2013, member, and since December 29, 2017, president of the Commission for the Implementation of the National Strategy for Judicial Reform.
  • Specialist in human and minority rights, rights of refugees and displaced persons, as well as trade union rights.

Work and practical experience

  • In the period from September 2005 to December 2009, he served as the director of the Judicial Center for Training and Professional Development.
  • From January 2004 to September 2005, he served as human rights coordinator at the Judicial Center for Training and Professional Development. As part of that, he was also a member of the working group for harmonizing SCG laws with EU laws.
  • From December 2001 to the end of December 2003, he served as legal advisor and office manager of the Norwegian Center for Refugees (human rights project), Niš.
  • From May 2001 to December 2001, he worked as a legal advisor and deputy head of the office of the Norwegian Refugee Center (human rights project), Kraljevo.
  • From April 2000 to May 2001, he worked as a legal advisor and coordinator of mobile legal teams at the Norwegian Refugee Center (human rights project), Kraljevo.
  • From October 1999 to April 2000, he worked as a legal advisor inFund for Humanitarian Law. Provided legal assistance to refugees, displaced persons, as well as led the investigation and reporting on the disappearance of Serbs and kidnapped people. He was also in charge of controlling the rights of ethnic minorities.
  • In 1997 and 1998, he worked as a legal advisor at the Yugoslav Legal Committee for Human Rights in Belgrade.
  • In addition to higher education, work and practical experience, he also attended numerous professional seminars, courses and trainings:
    -  Seminar E U Convention on Basic Human Rights;
    -  Union Courses in Union Organizing - Sponsored by the American Organizing Union, AFL/CIO;
    -  Seminar on Electoral Systems organized by IFES - International Foundation for Electoral Systems)


Published a large number of essays, scientific papers and analysis. Some of which are:

  • Annual report on refugees and internally displaced persons in Serbia in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007;
  • Law on minors and practice in Serbia, 2012;  
  • Analysis of "Training of judges in the Republic of Serbia on Articles 5 and 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights" for the Council of Europe, etc.

Create the prerequisites for the development of professionalism in holders of judiciary office by establishing clear, measurable and objective criteria for the election and career advancement and their training and professional development, in line with core values and principles the judiciary system is founded on.


Develop and conduct training programmes for holders of judiciary offices and other staff in the judiciary system, aimed at acquiring new knowledge and its promotion, development of special abilities and skills, to contribute to strengthening of professional and accountable judiciary system.
