For many years, the Judicial Academy has achieved outstanding cooperation with the Council of Europe, and the latest in a series of proofs for this are the translations and proofreading of important documents in the field of freedom of expression.

As part of the Council of Europe project "Protection of Freedom of Expression and Media in Serbia (PRO-FREX)", the following documents were proofread and translated, which are now also available in the Electronic Library of the Judicial Academy:

• Recommendation of the Council of Europe CM/Rec(2024) on combating the abuse of strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPP);
• Directive (EU) 2024/1069.

In addition, the project produced a Guide for legal experts on freedom of expression, SLAPP lawsuits and relevant ECtHR standards. This guide presents a concise and systematized overview of the most relevant judgments of the ECtHR, which establish standards of importance for freedom of expression and, indirectly, for the recognition and early dismissal of SLAPP claims, and is also available in the electronic library on the website of the Judicial Academy.

All of the above represents a complete package of educational materials on the topic of SLAPP lawsuits and freedom of expression.

Develop and conduct training programmes for holders of judiciary offices and other staff in the judiciary system, aimed at acquiring new knowledge and its promotion, development of special abilities and skills, to contribute to strengthening of professional and accountable judiciary system.
