Counseling on "Criminal Proseness of Crimes in Hate in the Republic of Serbia"
The Judicial Academy was in cooperation with the OSCE Mission office in Serbia 3. and 4. July 2025. organized counseling on "Criminal Proseness of Hate Crimes in the Republic of Serbia".
The activity was created as one of the results of many years of work and skills of public prosecutors contact points with elements of crimes from hate and promotion of publication "Guidelines for criminal crimes in hate in the Republic of Serbia".
Lecturers at counseling were They are Dr. Jasmine Kyurian, Public Prosecutor in the Supreme Public Prosecutor's Office, Tamara Mirović, Biljana Sinanović, Judge of the Supreme Court in Pension and Jelena Jokanović, Program Advisor in the OSCE Mission Office in Serbia.
Consultation topics were: The term crimes from hate and newspaper in the field of hate crimes in the Republic of Serbia (2012-2024) and criminal offenses of hate crimes in the Republic of Serbia), criminal offense of hate crime - court aspect (Challenges and examples of good practice).
Through discussion, participants had the opportunity to try to find answers to disputed legal issues, work problems as well as examples of good practice in the field of hate crimes.
Second counseling on the topic "Criminal Proseness of Hate Crimes in the Republic of Serbia" is planned to be implemented in September 2025. years.
In the course of this calendar year, work was planned on the updated edition "Guidelines for Criminal Proseness of Hate Crimes in the Republic of Serbia".
The Judicial Academy uses the opportunity to once again thank the OSCE Mission in Serbia for support in the implementation of the Permanent Training Program of the Judicial Academy.
