Conversion points for cross-border and international proceedings - Mediation and arbitration in relation to court proceedings
The Judicial Academy organized a one-day seminar on November 28, 2025 in Belgrade, on the topic:Conversion points for cross-border and international proceedings - Mediation and arbitration in relation to court proceedings''.
The seminar was organized for judges and judicial assistants of commercial and higher courts courts that act in this matter.
The key topics covered at the seminar were:
- Relations between countries and proper distribution at the mediation level upon request; External office for mediation and "overthrow" of contracts for published mediation according to international rules
- International vs cross-border mediation (International mediation - Article 5 - "International mediation, in the sense of this law, is mediation in disputed relations with a foreign element" and Mediation in cross-border disputes - Article 6)
- Singapore Agreement, 2019: "Where a dispute arises relating to a matter which has already been resolved by the settlement agreement, the agreement can be invoked to prove that the matter has been resolved. (Art 3(2) SCM)"
- Application of the international element in the "call for mediation" in other countries
- Problems and "blockages of the court" in EU countries
- Transformation of mediation 2012-2016-2020 in Europe and in the world after the Singapore Agreement
