The Judicial Academy, assisted by the project team of the Prevention and the Fight against Corruption Project funded within the EU IPA 2013 pre-accession assistance for Serbia, organized a workshop at the Hotel Museum on 18 April.
The topic of the workshop was application of the Law on Organization and Jurisdiction of the State Bodies in Combating Organized Crime, Terrorism and Corruption – an analysis of the case-law in the second-instance corruption cases, contentious issues for judges of the first-instance.
The workshop was dedicated to judges of Appellate Courts for the purpose of an exchange of experiences in enforcing the Law until present and discussions on the following topics:
- Examination of motions to indict;
- Dilemmas regarding the acceptance of circumstantial evidence and non-uniform practice;
- Overuse of special probative actions;
- Possibilities for use of the evidence presented in the criminal proceedings for seizure of assets associated with criminal activity;
- Status of forensic officers.
On 8 and 9 October 2019, in the lecture hall of the Judicial Academy in Belgrade, the Judicial Academy, in cooperation with the European Centre for Judges and Lawyers (ECJL) from Luxemburg (EIPA), organized a workshop on the topic: „Integrity of the judiciary and resistance to corruption“. The workshop was organized for the judges of the High Court Belgrade and the deputies of the High Public Prosecutor’s Office Belgrade, who are in the special anti-corruption departments and who process in such cases, as well as for the beneficiaries of the initial training of the Academy.
The Judicial Academy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice Project team for the prevention and fight against corruption funded by the EU Delegation to Serbia, organized a seminar on this topic at the Appellate Court in Novi Sad on 20 May 2019.
The training included the following topics:
- Competences required to recognize and resolve ethical dilemmas in practice
- Implementation of the Code of Ethics in solving ethical dilemmas
- Prevention and resolving risky situations for corruption occurrence
- Corruption and anti-corruption tools
- Accountability for ethical action
The lecturers on this training were ethics experts: Mirjana Golubović from the Judicial Academy and Tamara Tomašević – Project on the prevention and fight against corruption.

On 29 April 2020, the Judicial Academy held the first online workshop for Special Anti-corruption Departments.
Today, in Aeoroklub in Belgrade, the Government Accountability Project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (the USAID) and the Judicial Academy presented the Practicum for Investigations and Trials of Criminal Offences of Corruption.
