Judicial Academy of the Republic of Serbia is starting „Distance training courses“

As of 2017, the Judicial Academy, in cooperation with the EU and the USAID projects, has been developing new applications in order to improve the methodology of implementation of the adopted curricula and to introduce innovative methods of work, such as „distance training“. The new equipment that the Judicial Academy got through the EU–IPA project by the end of 2019 enabled setting up of the Data Centre for the support to the developed applications..
After the declaration of the pandemic of COVID-19 virus, in compliance with the measures of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for combating the spreading of the virus, the Judicial Academy has intensified the work on the setting up of the service for „distance training courses“, which will enable the provision of the training courses and implementation of the Annual Training Programme for 2020, both for the judicial office holders, and for the beneficiaries of the initial training and the members of other judicial professions. In addition to the provision of the courses to the above categories, the training courses will also be provided to the beneficiaries from other professions, in line with special laws.

Special attention in „distance training courses“ will be devoted to the training courses envisaged by special laws, such as:
The Family Law,
The Law on Juvenile Criminal Offenders and Criminal Legal Protection of Juveniles,
The Law on the Prevention of Domestic Violence,
The Law on Organization and Competence of State Authorities in Combating Organized Crime, Terrorism and Corruption,
The Law on Establishing Facts of the Status of Newborns Suspected to Have Disappeared in Maternity Wards, and
other laws that envisage compulsory training organized by the Judicial Academy.

By Monday 30 March 2020, the testing of the service will be completed and it will be ready for the provision of the training courses. The service is fully compatible with the SCORM 2004 Standard, which is used for the compilation of e-training courses, so that the posting of the training courses has been enabled in compliance with that Standard.

In addition to video and interactive courses, the contents of which are prepared in advance, the provision of online training courses in real time will also be enabled. This means that the lecturers will be able to provide the training courses that the trainees will attend from their computers from any location, with the full access to the working materials used by the lecturers.
Also, the trainees will be enabled direct communication with the lecturers, so that, through interactive access, they will participate in the resolution of the presented problems and questions. At the end of a training course, evaluation of the training courses will be enabled through filling out of forms for the purpose of evaluation of the actual training course.
The structure of the training courses that will be offered through this service will fully follow the themes from the Annual Continuous Training Programme for judges and prosecutors for 2020, the Training Programme for the members of other judicial professions for 2020, the Initial Training Programme for 2020, and the programmes of compulsory training courses envisaged by special laws.
