AIRE Center, a non-governmental organization based in Great Britain, with the financial support of the Government of Great Britain, is currently implementing a regional multi-year project with the aim of increasing access to justice for victims and survivors of gender-based violence through a greater understanding of gender issues among the judiciary of the Western Balkans. The project is implemented in close cooperation with the highest courts and judicial education centers throughout the region.

During implementation, the project combines analytical activities, capacity building activities and communication activities. Through project activities, they performed an analysis of judicial practice in cases of femicide and, based on these findings, prepared a regional report with specific recommendations and guidelines for dealing with cases of femicide.

With the aim of presenting the guidelines to as many judges and prosecutors as possible in Serbia, the AIRE Center, in cooperation with the Judicial Academy, plans to organize a large number of workshops.

The goal is for the trainers at these workshops to be members of the GCJ network that was formed as part of the project, and on this occasion, a training session for trainers was held on April 16, 2024, in the hall of the Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research. The lecturers at the training were Dr. Nevena Petrušić and Dr. Kosana Becker.
